Making Off-Campus Phone Calls

Summary

This article has instructions for making off-campus phone calls for in-state (NH), out-of-state, and international, as well as emergency and special dialing.

How-to

You must use the area code on all New Hampshire, in-state, off campus calls. 

Instructions

Step 1  - Dial 6 (for an off campus line) then 603 + seven digit phone number for all New Hampshire calls.

Step 2  - If the call is a toll call (out of your local calling area), you may hear three bursts of tone followed by dial tone to indicate that an authorization code is required to complete the call. You will have ten seconds to input your 7-digit authorization code/PBN (Need an authorization code? Fill out this Long Distance Authorization Code Request.)

Outcome

You should be able to make an in-state call.

Step 1 - Emergencies including Fire, Police and Medical Emergencies, dial 911. This routes to the State of NH 911 Emergency Services.
