Phone Not Working - Does Not Ring

  1. Check that the handset is cradled properly
  2. Make sure all the phone wires are plugged in securely
  3. Call the phone from another phone. Can you hear it ring through the receiver?
  4. The problem may be in your phone. Try plugging a different phone into the jack and see if the issue is resolved
  5. Could you have forwarded all calls to voicemail? Pick up the handset, wait for a dial tone, then press #3 and hang up. This cancels forwarding all calls to voicemail
  6. Could you have forwarded all calls to another phone number? Pick up the handset, wait for a dial tone, then press #2 and hang up. This cancels forwarding all calls to another phone number
  7. Verify callers are using the correct phone number 
  8. Verify your phone has the correct number assigned.  Dial '0' and ask the campus operator what number appears on the phone display for your call
