Using ESET Mac Antivirus Software

Updating

  1. Open ESET Endpoint Antivirus by clicking the ESET logo icon on the menu bar
  1. In the ESET Endpoint Antivirus interface, click the Update tab, located on the left column.

  1. Click Update modules , to begin update.

Scanning

  1. Open ESET Endpoint Antivirus by double clicking the eset logo icon on the menu bar and selecting "Open ESET Endpoint Antivirus" from the drop down menu.

  1. In the ESET Endpoint Antivirus interface, click the Computer scan tab, located on the left column.

  1. Click Custom Scan.

  1. In the Custom Scan screen, check the hard-drive (ex. Macintosh HD) and click Scan.

  1. Wait for the scan to complete.

  1. Once scan is complete, click OK if there are no viruses found.

Virus Removal

  1. If a virus has been detected, the ESET Endpoint Antivirus icon on the menu bar will turn display a red triangle with an exclamation point. eset logo with alert

  1. Open ESET Endpoint Antivirus by double clicking the red triangle and choosing "Open ESET Endpoint Antivirus."

  1. Click the Computer Scan tab, located on the left column.

  1. Click Custom Scan and select your hard-drive and click Scan.

  1. Wait for the scan to complete.

  1. Scan completed successfully.

  1. In the scan notes, it displays the amount of objects scanned, the number of infected objects, and the number of cleaned objects. ESET Endpoint Antivirus automatically "cleans" infected objects by quarantining them.
