Xtender: Reset a Batch (to Idle)

Summary

This tip is for anyone working with batches of documents in the web version of Xtender.

Have you ever tried to open a batch, either to index it or add more documents to it, only to discover that you couldn’t get into it? Instead, you get a message saying that the batch is in use.

If the batch really is being worked on by someone else, then that message is great. It prevents you from getting in the way of the work the other person is doing. But what if you're certain that nobody is working in the batch and you need to open it? What do you do then? How do you tell Xtender that nobody’s using it?  You need to reset the state of the batch to Idle.

How-To

Task: Reset the batch to idle.

Instructions

  1. Open the Manage Batches window.
  2. From the batch list, select the batch (with the checkbox in front of the batch name).
  3. Select Reset To Idle option on the pop-up menu. Acknowledge the message.
  4. Once the batch state is Idle, you will be able to open the batch.

Outcome

You should be able to reset a batch to idle.
