Drupal: Sources of Faculty Profile Page Information

Summary

Faculty profile pages in school and colleges websites contain data sourced from three locations - Banner HR (data feed), myElements (data feed - UNH faculty only) and Drupal (manual entry). A brief description of each source follows, and a visual key in the form of a page mock-up is included below.

Details

Banner HR Data

Faculty data sourced from Banner HR includes name, position title, email, phone, address, pronouns and education, as well as the association to a school or college. The corresponding data is highlighted in yellow in the page mock-ups to the right and below. Because this data is automatically populated into faculty profile pages, any changes to this data have to be made by Human Resources.

Note:  if you have not designated any pronouns in WISE, that section of the profile will not appear.

You can use WISE self-service for name and pronoun updates. Information can be found here:

To request changes or clarifications to data originating in Banner HR (designated in yellow) request service using the Employee Record Update Request Form

myElements Data (UNH faculty only)

The myElements UNH faculty activity reporting tool website login is at: https://myelements.unh.edu/login.html

UNH faculty data sourced from myElements includes "additional title" (academic appointment), overview summary and website address(es), as well as select academic activity. The corresponding data is highlighted in blue in the page mock-ups to the right and below. Because this data is automatically populated into faculty profile pages, any changes to this data have to be made in the myElements application.

The following is a list of data elements with a description of where they are found in myElements, and includes the "amount" of data displayed, if applicable (the amount of varies depending on the element):

  • Additional title (below official title sourced from Banner) - this data element is sourced from the "Academic appointments" field and is an additional/optional title. See myElements-Your Profile - Additional Titles in this knowledge base.
  • Website(s) - this data element is sourced from the "Web addresses and social media" section. See myElements- Adding Web Addresses and Social Media in this knowledge base.
  • Curriculum Vitae - if a CV .pdf has been uploaded to the faculty profile in myElements, the system will automatically pull that file and attach in under Website.  Users can open the file by clicking on it.
NOTE: This element will also contain a link to the FindScholars@UNH website, positioned on the faculty profile page there.
  • myElements profile Overview (under the About section) - entire overview
  • Research Interests - all data. See myElements-Adding Research Interests in this knowledge base.
NOTE: if you do not have research interests then "Teaching Interests" will be used instead. See "myElements- Adding Teaching Interests" in this knowledge base.
  • Courses Taught - last 5 years (with some exceptions, like upper level "Special Topics" which can apply to multiple disciplines).  Courses for the current semester are loaded in 6-8 weeks into a term.
  • Publications - This section will list "Favorites." See myElements - Setting & Changing Publications as Favorites in this knowledge base. If no favorites have been created, then the 5 most recent, and 5 most cited will be listed.
NOTE: The "VIEW ALL" link below the Publications list will take a visitor to the FindScholars@UNH website, positioned on the faculty profile page.

Drupal Data

Drupal faculty profile pages can contain data manually entered by department staff. This can include department affiliation, headshot image, additional biographical narrative, charts and images, and links to additional related focus areas.
The corresponding data is highlighted in green in the page mock-up below. Because this data is manually populated into faculty profile pages, you may contact your department office to request changes.
