Accessibility: Consultation and Course Design

UNH AT Instructional Design and Development

Accessibility Consultation

Instructional Design and Development (IDD) consults with faculty and others in the University of New Hampshire community on best practices for accessibility in pedagogy in the classroom and online.

IDD collaborates with the Student Accessibility Services (SAS) office and the UNH ADA Compliance Office in identifying appropriate accommodations for students, and consults with faculty on their implementation of accommodations.

Course and Course Asset Design

IDD consults with faculty on best practices in course design to ensure accessibility in course assets such as myCourses navigation and page design, documents, and media. We can consult and instruct on accessible page layout and design for content pages in myCourses, Word, PDF and other document formats. We can consult and instruct on video captioning and tagging. Actual production of documents and captioning is the responsibility of faculty and the academic department.
