How to Annotate a PDF Document or Fill and Sign a Form Using Adobe Acrobat DC (in some case Adobe Acrobat PRO DC)

Open Adobe Acrobat DC.

  • For a Mac, go to Finder and type Adobe Acrobat DC
  • For a PC, in the search field, type Adobe Acrobat DC

  1. Fill and Sign a PDF document
  2. Annotate a PDF document

Annotate a PDF Document

Click Comment under Review & Approve section or Comment on the right-side column.

Select a file from your files on your computer or your OneDrive.

Here are all the different annotations you can perform in your document:

  • Add a sticky note
  • Highlight text
  • Underline text
  • Strikethrough text
  • Add a note to replace text
  • Insert text at cursor
  • Add text comments
  • Add a text box
  • Draw free form
  • Erase drawing
  • Add a stamp
  • Add a new attachment
  • Drawing tools

Fill and Sign a Form

Click Fill & Sign under Forms & Signatures section or Fill & Sign on the right-side column.

Select a file from your files on your computer or your OneDrive.

Here are all the different tools to fill out and sign a form you can perform in your document:

  • To place information on the form, add text
  • To make a selection of an item use the X, checkmark, or circle your option(s)
  • Add an underline or dot to your form
  • Add a signature to your form. If you do not have a signature or initials already created, follow the instructions below to create one.

Create Signature or Initials

Once you click the Sign button, you can select either add a signature or add initials.

Decide which method you want to use to create your signature using type, draw, or import an image.

If you select the type option, you can select the style for your signature or initials (see image above and below).

Click the Apply button after creating your signature or initials.
