How to Share a Document on the OneDrive or SharePoint

Currently, when sharing documents in OneDrive or SharePoint the default is view access. There are instructions for both how to share a SharePoint and OneDrive document.

SharePoint:

Once you are on your SharePoint site.

Click the Documents tab at the top of the screen.

Now continue using the OneDrive instructions even if your file is not on your OneDrive.

OneDrive:

Once you get into OneDrive, find the file you want to share.

Check the circle in front of the file you want to share.

Click the Share button.

If you want to allow someone to be able to edit the file or change so a specific group of people can view/edit the file, click the arrow next to Anyone with the link can view or People in Plymouth State University with the link can view.

Otherwise, enter in the person's/people's name or email address you are sharing the file, optional message, and click Send.

If you click Anyone with the link can view or People in Plymouth State University with the link can view, this is the next screen that will display.

Click the checkbox in front of the Allow Editing to allow people to edit the file.

OneDrive SharePoint

In OneDrive you can Set an expiration date and/or require a password. For SharePoint you can Block download.

Click the Apply button.
