A Virtual Private Network (VPN) is used to connect securely to a remote network via the Internet. This is especially important if you are traveling and using an unfamiliar network (i.e. airports, coffee shops, etc.). USNH maintains different VPN connections, so that users can access files, applications, printers, and other resources on the office network without compromising security.
In addition to keeping our devices and networks secure, you can access many of your home campus's networked resources remotely, by connecting to the VPN. For example, you may wish to access network file shares from off-campus, or use Banner INB while working from home. You do NOT need to use this VPN service if you only wish to use email or access Canvas.
