Cloud Storage & Filesharing

Cloud Storage & Filesharing services enable you to store, collaborate, and share information; it can be accessed through a desktop, laptop, phone or tablet. You can upload content, organize files, share links to files, manage file and folder permissions as well as collaborate with colleagues both inside and outside the University System anytime, anywhere, from any device. 

There are two Cloud Storage & Filesharing services, Microsoft O365 OneDrive and Box. 

Features of Microsoft's OneDrive: 

  • Create Office docs online and simultaneously co-edit with other users using a browser. 
  • Upload and manage content from any device 
  • Desktop synchronization 
  • Data loss prevention management 
  • Microsoft Office integration  
  • Versioning and 30 day recovery window 
  • Search and discovery tools 

Features of Box 

Note: Box is used by UNH, USNH staff, Granite Staff, UNHM, and UNH Law. Box is not used at KSC or PSU 

  • Microsoft Office Online editing allows you to create and edit Office documents in Box right in your browser. See a demo here
  • Easy upload content, organize documents, sharing of files and manage file and folder permissions. 
  • Collaborate on documents with colleagues both inside and outside the University seamlessly anytime, anywhere from any device. 
  • Uploaded files are private until you decide to share them. 
  • Version history of your files. Up to 100 previous versions (100 most recent) are accessible. 
  • Deleted files are kept in the Trash folder for 30 days, you have the ability to recover deleted files/folder. 
  • Free plugins and apps are available from Box.com for Box at UNH users and integrates well with Microsoft Office.
