Getting Email Headers

Email headers provide a list of technical details about the message, such as who sent it, the software used to compose it, and the email servers that it passed through on its way to the recipient.

To find the email header in Outlook on the Web:

  1. Click on the desired Email

  2. Click the down arrow on the Reply or Reply All Button in the top right corner
    View Email Details

  3. Choose View message details or View message source
    Choose View message Details or View message source

  4. A new window will pop up with the header information. Copy the information and paste into desired location (Text Document, Email, Word)

  5. To easily grab the information, you can press "Ctrl + A" to select everything, then press "Ctrl + C" to copy.
