How to Install Adobe Applications (Windows and macOS) - Individual application subscriptions only

Windows

This script will use Adobe Acrobat as an example, but the process is the same for all applications except for Creative Cloud. To install Creative Cloud, click here

  1. A day or two after placing your order via the USNH uShop punch-out, you will receive an email from Adobe. The subject line will read Get started with <Application name>. These emails typically hit your inbox, but sometimes are redirected to Junk/Spam folders. When the email arrives, in the body of the email is a blue button labeled Get started. Click that button
  2. You will be taken to Adobe’s website and will be asked to Select an account. Choose Personal Account
  3. Your USNH email address will be displayed at the top of the Enter your password screen. Click on Reset your password at the bottom of the screen to set your Adobe password
  4. The Update your password screen will appear and ask for a code. This will also be sent via email
  5. Enter the Verification code in the fields provided. You will be then taken to the Update your password window to choose an Adobe password
    • Note: Adobe subscriptions do not use SSO. This password is unique in that it will only be used for Adobe
    • The criteria for your new Adobe password is:
      • Contains at least 8 Characters
      • Contains both lower- and upper-case letters
      • Contains at least one number or symbol
      • Does not contain your name or email address
      • Is not commonly used or a previous password
  6. Type in your password in the New password field and then again in the Repeat password field. Click the Update Password button to continue. Your password has been updated should be displayed confirming your new password. Click the Continue button
  7. Click Skip and continue at the Want to sign in without your password? (The Adobe Account Access app is not supported)
  8. A browser window will open and default to the app you are trying to install. Click the Download link under the application name
  9. Close Outlook and any other Microsoft Office applications you have running
  10. Click the Save File button (if prompted) to save the download file to your computer. Depending on the browser you are using, the download file will appear in the upper right or lower left of your browser. In any case, click that file to start the download and install process
  11. At the Install <Application Name> window, click Continue
  12. Click Yes if the prompt asking Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device? appears
  13. The installation will begin, and while that is happening, you may be presented with some questions on your familiarity with Adobe products. Answer those as you see fit, or you can Skip question. Click Continue once all questions are answered or skipped
  14. Wait patiently until the install is complete
  15. Once the install is complete, all windows will close and a brief message stating the application has been installed successfully will appear. You are now free to use your Adobe application

 

macOS

  11. Click the Save File button (if prompted) to save the download file to your computer. Depending on the browser you are using, the download file will appear in the upper right or lower left of your browser. In any case, click that file to start the download and install process
  12. An Installer window prompt will appear. Double-click the application box to start the install
  13. A window may appear stating that <Adobe Application Name> is an app downloaded from the Internet. Click Open
  14. Click OK if prompted at the <Adobe Application Name> would like access files in your Downloads folder
  15. A Creative Cloud window will open and ask you to sign in. Sign in with your USNH email address and your Adobe password. Remember to select Personal Account if prompted again
  16. The status for the install is shown in the upper right-hand corner. Click Next to start the install. To check ongoing status, click the Cloud icon in the upper right-hand corner
  17. Once installation is complete, there will be no indication sent, but the status bar will disappear. You are now free to use your Adobe application
