Outlook: Setting your Default Email Response to Reply, or Reply all

Task: To set a default email response in the Outlook Web App to reply only to the sender of the original email (Reply), or to everyone listed in the To and Cc fields (Reply all). The selected default setting appears on the top of the drop-down response menu in the email message window.

 

Instructions:

Step 1 - Access your USNH email account.

Step 2 - Click the gear icon Gear icon to access Outlook Setting menu. in the upper right hand corner of the Outlook window.

Step 3 - Scroll to the bottom of the Settings menu, and click View all Outlook settings.

Step 4 - Select Mail > Compose and replyExpanded Outlook Setting menu with Mail and Compose and reply selected.

 

Step 5 - Under Reply or Reply all, choose a default response.

  • Click Reply to respond only to the sender.
  • Click Reply to all to respond to everyone in the To and Cc fields of the message.

Step 6 - Click Save.

 

Outcome: The selected default setting appears on the top of the drop-down response menu in the email message window.
