Xtender: Import with Drag and Drop

This tip is for anyone using the web version of Xtender, and who has the security to add documents into Xtender.

Documents can be manually added to Xtender in a couple different ways: either by scanning them directly into Xtender or by importing an electronic image. And you have 2 options for importing the electronic image: either with drag and drop, or by using the Add Page tools. The drag and drop method is described below.

To import a document into Xtender, using drag and drop:

  1. In the application list, select the appropriate application (example: DOCS, EMPL, ADMN, ID).
  2. Select the New Batch button (or New Document).
  3. In the Batch Name field, enter a temporary batch name, and click the Continue button.
  4. Drag the document(s) you wish to import over to the Xtender window. Drop it anywhere in the Xtender window.
Note: You can import a single document or multiple documents. You can break up the batch during indexing.
  5. Once the documents have been imported, they are ready to be indexed.
  6. You can close this batch and create another batch. Or you can log out of Xtender and go back to your desk to index. Or you can index the batch right now. For instructions on indexing, see the Xtender: Index a Document article in the Knowledge Base. (Xtender: Index a Document )
