This tip is for anyone who needs to scan with the web version of Xtender.
In order to scan into Xtender, the Captiva Cloud software must be installed on the computer being used for scanning. There are a couple ways you can do that:
- Take me to Option 1 - run installer from Configuration Manager
- Take me to Option 2 - run installer from network folder
Note: Captiva Cloud is not required for importing documents into Xtender.
Option 1: Run installer from Configuration Manager / Software Center
If you are a UNH user with Configuration Manager on your computer, you can run the installer from the Software Center. The benefit of this option is that you don't need to have administrator privileges for installing software on your computer.
- Go to the Start menu.
- Navigate to Microsoft System Center >> Configuration Manager >> Software Center

- Select Captiva Cloud Capture from the list of available applications

- Click the Install button.
- Close the Software Center. Once Captiva Cloud has been installed, you can find it listed on the Programs and Features list.
- In Xtender, open the User Settings window (how? Xtender: Define the User Settings)
- In the Import section of User Settings, select the Enable Scanning checkbox

- Click Save
Option 2: Run installer from the network
Note: For this option, you must have administrative rights to your machine.
To install Captiva Cloud:
- Confirm you are logged into the VPN, and then navigate to this UNH IT public network folder: \\ecglib.unh.edu\public$\AX\16.6\Captiva Cloud\CloudCapture1100\CloudCapture - Copy\RuntimeInstaller
Note: if you cannot get to that folder, try this instead: file:\\ecglib.unh.edu\public$\AX\16.6\Captiva Cloud\CloudCapture1100\CloudCapture - Copy\RuntimeInstaller GSC, KSC, and PSU users may find this link works best.
Note: If these links don't open another tab, try copying and pasting the link into an Internet Explorer address line.
- Select the installer file (setup.exe) to download it.
- Once downloaded, right-click the installer file and select Run as Adminisrator.
- Click Next.

- Accept the terms of the license agreement and click Next.

- Select Disable remote access.

- Click Install.

- If you see a message about needing to reboot after you install, click OK.
Note: You may not see this message.

- Click Finish to finish the Captiva Cloud installation.

- In Xtender, open the User Settings window (how? Xtender: Define the User Settings)
- In the Import section of User Settings, select the Enable Scanning checkbox

- Click Save
