Kaltura Classroom: Overview

This article provides a basic overview of Kaltura Classroom.

Kaltura Classroom is only available on SuperTEC Windows computers. If you are using any other computer for lecture capture, you'll need to use Kaltura Capture instead.

Kaltura Classroom enables you to create high quality recordings in the classroom.

The user-centric design allows a simple, easy to use workflow for professors and teaching assistants. The background upload ensures content will be available within the Kaltura platform with an engaging interactive viewing experience with Kaltura's dual stream player.

Kaltura Classroom includes:

  • HD recording of screen, camera, and microphone
  • Recording and uploading PowerPoint slides
  • Background upload to My Media within Canvas and MediaSpace.
  • Intuitive user interface

Kaltura Classroom has a simple user interface, requiring only one click to record, without complex setup or a lengthy learning curve. The system can record cameras and screen captures in Full HD (1080p).

The Kaltura Classroom Application includes the following:

  • Home Tab -- Opens the homepage.
  • Info Tab -- Lists the Kaltura Classroom Application information and version.
  • Settings Tab -- Displays the Client Name selected for the recording.
  • Pencil icon -- Use to edit recording information
  • Recording Button -- Press to record.
  • Configuration Settings

Normally, though, you only need to click the big, red recording button. That’s it. If you would like to use the software, head on over to our Kaltura Classroom: Getting Started article.
