Xtender: Define the User Settings

This tip is for anyone using the web version of Xtender.

The User Settings button allows you to control the way documents are retrieved, displayed, exported, and printed in Xtender. There are a bunch of settings you could adjust - this article highlights the key ones to change.

Feel free to adjust other settings as well. (Keep track - so you can change them back if you don't like the way they work!) The changes you make to your settings will not affect other users.

Here's how:

  1. From within Xtender, click your login name on the title bar and select User Settings.
  2. In the Search/Result Set section:
    1. Select the Display Document in Separate Popup Window checkbox
    2. Set Query Results Page Size Limit to 100
    3. Select the Enable Preview Thumbnails for Each Document in Query Results checkbox
  3. In the Document View section:
    1. Select the Show Page Thumbnails checkbox
    2. Select the Enable Inline Rendering of Foreign Files checkbox
    3. Select the Use Browser to Display Secured PDF Files
    4. Select the Enable Inline Viewing of PDF Files checkbox
  4. In the Import section:
    1. Select the Enable Scanning checkbox
  5. In the COLD section:
    1. Select Image in the  Default View COLD Form Overlay drop-down box
    2. Unselect the Show Color Bars checkbox
  6. In the Print section:
    1. Select Image in the COLD Form Overlay for Print drop-down box
  7. Make changes to any of the other sections, if desired
  8. To save your settings, click the Save button
