Troubleshooting Smart TV Connections

If you have followed the instructions in the Connecting a Smart TV, Roku, etc  article and your Smart TV apps do not work, it may be because the device is not requesting an IP address. The steps below are an example of the simple fix on a Vizio brand TV - your Smart TV should have similar menu options:

  1. Turn on the TV
  2. Press the MENU button on your remote
  3. Select MANUAL SETUP
  4. You will see a section at the top labeled DHCP. Toggle this to ON.
  5. Turn your TV off, wait a minute, then turn it on again.

*Please note:  Non-browsing devices should not attempt to use the eduroam wireless network.
