Zoom: How to Move Zoom Recordings to Kaltura

Task: This article explains how the end-user can move recordings from Zoom to Kaltura if the automated migration process fails following a cloud recording session.

Instructions:

Getting the Recording from Zoom
  1. Login to Zoom.
  2. Select the Recordings tab
  3. Locate the session recording and click on the More button
  4. Click the Download button

Uploading the Recording into Kaltura
  1. Go to My Media, either in MediaSpace (mediaspace.<institution>.edu) or Canvas (mycourses.<institution>.edu).
    • Note: make sure you are logged into your account.
  2. Click +Add New > Media Upload
  3. Click +Choose a file to upload
  4. Locate your downloaded Zoom recording and upload it
    • Note: the file is most commonly in the default download folder for the device.
  5. Change the file name and other metadata if desired. Click Save when done.
  6. Once uploading is complete, you will need to wait for the video to process before it can be played. You do not need to stay logged in during processing.
  7. Optional: The video can be transferred to another user with these instructions.

Outcome:

Users have a backup way to move their Zoom content into Kaltura.
